Sobble WIP 4: Tail pattern (Patreon)

We’re already at the final stretch in the patterning of this plush. It’s time to work on the hardest part: the tail.
As you’ve seen in the design, Sobble has a coiled tail like a chameleon. With the Vulpix and Squirtle plushies, we’ve learnt that making these tails can be a hellish work, but still we wanted to try new things and surpass our former work.
We decided to make it with many pieces. We could have used less pieces and do less seams; but then the elasticity of the fabric would have deformed it and we wouldn’t be able to get the perfect round shape. Lastly, the tail has a “circle” in the middle that serves as the tail’s end.

This part ended up working out earlier than the rest, we only needed 2 tries. As you can see, we’ve made many changes in shape and size between the two tails. We’re also very happy with the shape looking good both from the side as seen in the pictures and in the frontal plane, where we got the thickness we wanted.

Finally, even though you may see the seams; when we do the final one we’ll brush out the fur from the seams to cover them as usual.

Ya estamos en la recta final en tema de patronaje para este peluche. Toca trabajar en la pieza mas difícil; la cola.
Como habréis visto en el diseño, tiene una cola enrollada estilo camaleón. Por los peluches de Vulpix y Squirtle hemos aprendido que hacer este tipo de colas es un infierno, pero aun así, queríamos probar cosas nuevas y superar los trabajos pasados.
Decidimos hacerlo con diferentes piezas. Podríamos haberlo hecho en menos y así ahorrarnos costuras, pero entonces, la elasticidad de la tela hubiera deformado el peluche y no habríamos conseguido que fuera tan redondita y perfecta. Para terminar, tiene un "círculo"añadido en el centro que hace de final de la cola.

La verdad es que esta parte del peluche ha salido mucho más rápido que otras veces, necesitando solo 2 intentos. Como podéis ver, de la primera prueba a la segunda hicimos cambios de tamaño y la forma del arco. También estamos muy contentas con que la forma no se vea solo bien de lado como en las fotos, si no que de frente también tiene el grosor que queríamos.

Lo último por añadir seria que aunque ahora veáis bastante las costuras, cuando lo pasemos a limpio le sacaremos los pelos de la costura para que se disimulen mejor,como siempre.
