ENGLISH/ESPAÑOL

Well, here are the pics of the printed fabrics, except for the jeans. We recorded a video showing all of them but the camera disconnected while we were exporting it to the computer and the file got corrupted... So sadly there are only these pictures.

We ordered the custom printed fabrics from 2 different sites: Spoonflower and Contrado. In the first one we ordered polar fleece, denim and Felix's T-shirt. In the second one, the sweaters and David's jacket. Both stores were fast in both production and shipping times, they even arrived on the same day despite Spoonflower being shipped from Germany. We ordered fabric sample charts on both sites before ordering the custom printed fabrics, so we could see and choose the fabrics in person. We also just ordered printing samples and not full lineal metres since we didn't need that much fabric for each piece of clothing. Both sites had similar prices so that wasn't relevant when we chose the fabric types. And finally, we want to comment that our canvases were the same size as the printed samples would be, with a resolution of 350ppp. Like with any picture you're going to print, you should check that all the colours look good in CMYK.

Now let's comment our purchases from each site, starting with Spoonflower. We had known this one for a long time, and it's also where we ordered the printed minky for Lucas' snake from. The ordering process was easy to follow becsause you got a preview of your custom printed fabric, where you could choose different types of printing (the image at full size, reduced size...) About the fabrics, the polar fleece is thinner than the one we use, but at the same time that gives better printed definition. It's a bit blurry due to the fabric's texture but you're still able to see each line perfectly. The only negative part is that it seems that pilling (tangled fiber balls that appear from rubbing) can appear easily. About the jeans, we realised that the un-printed side of the fabric appeared easily while sewing, something that didn't happen with the polar fleece or the T-shirt wich, by the way, came out perfect.

Then about Contrado, the printing quality is very similar to Spoonflower's, but the ordering process is more difficult, since you have to place the picture on the preview yourself, which is also too small to see clearly. David's jacket turned out awesome, the colours were beautiful and it was really easy to sew, but with the sweaters we had the same problem as with the jeans; the rear side of the fabric showed through the seams. Also, it wasn't elastic at all so it was hard to sew on the hood. Finally, the orange of David's sweater didn't turn out as we expected but it was still a beautiful colour that looked great.

The general experience in both cases was good, so we will order from both sites in the future, depending on what fabric do we want.
