Larvesta WIP 2: First body base (Patreon)

Let's start with Larvesta's body patterns, and the first one will be the abdomen. This will be the only visible part of the plushie's body, since the rest will be covered by fur, so we'll have to be careful that all the lines and seams match. For the abdomen we wanted two things; first, that it had a good shape and was similar enough to the 3D model, of course. We also wanted the butt to be a bit above the ground. In the concept art it has it touching the ground but in the model it was raised and we liked how it looked more alive.

About the patterns, we wanted to avoid making 4 different pieces, since it would be more difficult to match the lines, and unmatching seams and lines would make it look a bit worse. But we thought that when scaling it to the right size, just darts wouldn't be enough to keep the shape, so we ended up making 4 pieces.

With this part done, the next one will be the torax and the head. The only change we did for the final patterns were thickening it a bit.

Pues empezamos con el patronaje de Larvesta por el cuerpo, en particular la zona del abdomen. Esta zona es la única visible del peluche, pues no la tapa del todo el pelo, así que tenemos que cuidar un poco más las costuras y piezas que hacemos. Al hacerlo buscábamos dos cosas. En primer lugar, que tuviera la forma y grosor del modelo 3D, obviamente. Pero luego queríamos que el culo terminase un poco levantado, no a ras de suelo. Aunque en el concept art lo tiene más bajado, nos fijamos que en el modelo en movimiento suele tenerlo algo levantado para darle algo más de vida.Como comentario a hacer sobre el patrón, queríamos evitar hacer 4 piezas individuales, pues luego hay que encajarlo con el dibujo que tiene (las líneas) y queda "más feo". Pero pensamos en que al escalarlo, las pinzas no serían suficientes y se vería demasiado aplanado. Así que decidimos usar las 4 piezas finalmente, cuidando que se marcasen lo mínimo posible.Este prototipo ya nos sirve para hacer la siguiente pieza de la base, que sería el tórax y la cabeza. El único cambio que le hicimos al pasarlo a limpio fue hacerlo un poco más gordo.
