ENGLISH/ESPAÑOL

After working on Zeru's plush for several days, we'll take a break from that project to start with our next Animal Crossing plush. It's time to show you Sherb's first tests. As always, we started with the head pattern. We recommend to start with this part of the plush, because it's usually one of the most difficult parts, the one people will pay more attention to and it's also a good reference to make the rest of the body.

Sherb, like all the goat villagers, has one of the weirdest head shapes in the game. They look very good, but it's a bit hard to imagine how they work and specially how to pattern them.

To get a first head pattern, we used the technique of sculpting the shape with newspaper and tape, cover them and get the patterns from that. To be honest, the first two head tests turned out weird, and we laughed a lot when we saw them stuffed hahahaha. But they were useful to get a third head, which is the one we're showing in more detail. It still needs a lot of pattern changes, but you can already see the shapes and where it's going. The thickness difference between the back and the chin, the curve...

In the last picture you can see there's a fourth head, which has better seams and looks more regular, but it lost some important shapes. We'll try to make the shapes more defined on this fourth one like in the third head, we think it will look great!

The truth is that we were really lost with how to start working on the head, where to put the seams and the darts. But we think we found the right way.

We hope we can show a better head in the following days. But the next post, which we will publish tomorrow if everything goes well, will be Terriermon's photo session!

It always amazes me seeing how many tests you have to do to get the correct shape. He's looking so good though! What a cute little goat. ❤
