ENGLISH/ESPAÑOL
Happy start of the week everybunny! While we're waiting for Sherb's clothes fabrics to arrive, we've worked a bit more on the SOTN prototypes. This will be the last WIPs we'll post, next time you'll see them completely finished. If you remember, the last thing we showed you was Tama's body tests. We had to change some colours and make a couple adjustments to her body. And now it looks way better :)
We also made the cape, although after we showed it to the customers they wanted us to remake it in green. But apart of that change, we really like how it turned out. It looks very realistic and pretty, so much that we will probably keep the brown one and use it in a future project hahaha
After finishing Tama's body, we started with Koko's. Unlike Tama, she needed her clothes to be separate from her body, since it would be impossible to make her dress otherwise. We made the details embroidered and added the front piece later. We like how it turned out for being so small! It's a dress with a good shape.
Once the bodies were finished, it was time to work on the heads. We had already patterned them since time ago, so we just needed to make a few changes to get the perfect shape with minky. We also redesigned the eyes to make them prettier (we weren't really convinced with the ones we had designed on the references). Then we made the embroidery designs and finally made the embroidery for the two faces. You don't know how happy we were when we saw that both embroideries turned out perfect AT FIRST TRY. Wiht our previous embroidery machine we had to make tons of tests, changing the design and density until they looked good. And despite that we still were unable to make human face embroideries as good as we wanted to. And then, when we sew and stuffed these ones, we couldn't believe they were ours! The quality difference between our old embroideries and the new ones is amazing. And it's something really important for human plushies.
Once all that was finished, there was only the hair left. Since Tama has so many spikes and layers, we decided to use the technique of a double layer of minky glued to each other. This way the hair is a bit more stiff and would make the hair look just like the references ^^ Here are a couple pics of both of them with their head peices just pinned on their heads.
The truth is that we're very happy and proud of how they look. As we said, working on humans overwhelmed us before because we had to make such small and detailed embroideries for the face. But now it's amazing. Thank you so much for helping us afford the new embroidery machine.
And well, when we make the ears, new cape and some handsewing... Our girls will be finished!
You will soon have the photoshoot avaliable ^^
