The Qatari Crisis and the Forever War in Afghanistan ft. Steven A. Cook (Patreon)

Steven A. Cook (@stevenacook), senior fellow for Middle East and Africa studies at the Council on Foreign Relations, joins Michael this week to discuss how it's possible to make sense of all the contradiction in the Qatari/Saudi relationship and what America's role is and should be. Also, the ultra-sleazy world of foreign policy lobbying.

Also, what does it mean that even Trump is continuing the seemingly permanent war in Afghanistan in as conventional way as possible?
