Jordan Peterson is far more challenging as an ideological foe than the run-of-the-mill MAGA chud fanboy or a conservative National Review nerd pedant. He is mixing in some Jungian archetypal theory, motivational pop-psych pep talks, and really bad Thatcher/Reagan neo-liberal politics.

Peterson's secret sauce is his apparently genuine paternal concern and sympathy for the life conditions of affluent suburban young men. Mocking him for that decent quality is a mistake. These aimless, alienated, privileged young men are being sustained by that perceived bond of empathy for their inner struggle. Just being a snide asshole liberal and dismissing him as a charlatan will not win the day. Mock the politics and disaggregate that from the self-help advice.

The whole Peterson obsession is beginning to smell like a Fox News/MSNBC ratings "feud". If you can't tear down his suppositions by logical debate you're only making him more popular.

Jordan Peterson deserves close and sustained attention, as the #1 public intellectual on the Right. Don’t want to burst our media bubble here, but Jordan Peterson currently has about 100X the throw-weight of MR+TMBS together.

He's ranting on about people being lifted out of poverty and how the UN solved poverty by 2013 in this video ; (8:45ish, I won't inflict any more on you then that. No mention of the rich profiting off the "rising of the tide" like never before and no mention of the fact the working class pays not only for the so called "rising tide, but that the wealthiest among us who are profiting like never before, while sacrificing nothing want our children to not only pay for this, but die for it as well.
