This exposition didn't quite live up to the premise: I was hoping for an actual list of key Marxist terms, stated at the opening summary and then underlined in bullet point form in the conclusion. It felt more discursive and open-ended than just a syllabus of key concepts. What I really would like is a concise Marxism 101 overview with direct application to recognizable political and economic conditions. Then, the terms can be employed as dialectical tools to unlock the layers of mystification that neo-liberal ideology employs to blunt collective action. I hope that this is just the preface for an extended collaboration with Douglas Lain to make the case for 21st century socialism.

I agree. It was a good first pass, but I’m looking forward to more in depth analysis. Everyone thinks they know what Marx is about, but very few know the actual material. I belong to the first group, so teach Michael, teach!
