This week I have pulled an interview of Herbert Marcuse, member of the Frankfurt School, teacher of Angela Davis, and one of the more formidable defenders of Marxism during a time of triumphalism in the capitalist West. We have already read Marcuse's "Repressive Tolerance" which critiques the liberal concept of tolerance against the scourge of fascism  (https://www.patreon.com/posts/17649229/).

In this interview, Marcuse outlines the reason the Frankfurt School turned their interest to psychoanalysis, his own criticisms of the New Left, and areas of Marxism that need to continue to be developed. During this interview, Marcuse shows that Marxism, rather than being a dogmatic and motionless theory, is dynamic in its attempts to understand the social and political systems that govern our lives.

Herbert Marcuse and the Frankfurt School (1977)

In this program with world-renowned author and professor Bryan Magee, the late philosopher and radical political theorist Herbert Marcuse explains how the so-called Frankfurt School reevaluated Marxism when world economic crisis failed to destroy capitalism as predicted by Marx. He also analyzes the philosophical roots of the student rebellions of the sixties.

Thanks David G. Good interviewer here even if he was a little naive towards the beginning about corporate influence on politicians.
