Glen Greenwald is a dick? Matt Taibbi is a dick? And I'm a big Joy Reid fan? Seriously? Wow. This 'woke bro' has got some waking to do. Let's compare their bodies of work shall we? The guy that broke the NSA Edward Snowden story that lives in Brazil and is tied in at the same time to OAC and Lula. And the other guy who is to all intents and purposes the heir to Hunter S. Thompson at the Rolling Stone and who has written some of the most important books in the last ten years on the American carceral state and income inequality. Versus Joy Ann fucking Reid. Seriously? Seriously? Jesus Mother Fucking Christ. This guys understanding of the political landscape makes Spike Lee look like Gramsci.

Wos is not quite right about the racism in America. "Those people" do and have "died" off. Look at the statistics and demographics Wos. What is stopping a hell of a lot more inbred racism from dying off is the social and economic condition people in the rust belt and southern states are subjected to, their real suffering and lack of educational opportunities and the overrunning of their job opportunities by Walmart and Amazon and the like. There is no gene for being racist that has to persist in any population. What there is, which is real, is a genetic predisposition which every single human has for empathy with their own social group. So if social groups become more centred around economic circumstances racism largely disappears. Michael (or was it Samantha) had a guest on MR a week or so ago speaking exactly about this. The problem is in conservative culture social groups which are centred around corrupted forms of christianity and their delusions of "the American dream can happen to me" and "if it does not happen to me then it is because of the others" (hispanics, blacks, jews, etc., rather than the banks) "taking what is mine". If you remove the need for such mass delusional scapegoating the deep seated racism starts to get watered down and over generations does die off, as it has across large chunks of the prosperous areas of the USA.
