For this week's theory video I've selected a short excerpt of a lecture by Robert Brenner. In this video, Robert Brenner talks about the structural causes of the Great Recession and the tactics that capitalists have used in the aftermath to suppress labor. His analysis goes beyond just the dollars and cents of the matter but on the changes in the strategy and wants of the capitalist class in general.

Robert Brenner is a professor at UCLA and is a member of the editorial committee at the New Left Review.
