Joshua Kahn, Executive Director of the Wildfire Project, joins us once again to talk about organizing in the shadow of an ongoing ecological crisis. The recent history of environmental justice movements and climate change as unequally distributed. Climate change denial as capitalist project trying to prevent a transition to a cleaner, more equal economy. How promising are state-led movements to address climate change, post Paris agreement? Indigenous sovereignty as key in climate fight. How our sense of possibility will inevitably change as the climate crisis develops.

great topic. It's fucked up how nobody respects sacred native sites or respects their water rights

Loved this interview with Joshua. After following a similar trajectory to his (participating in anti-war movement and being disappointed by failure and lack of clarity around goals), and re- discovering organizing via I've 2008 election, the climate justice movement was where I really started to dig in and get involved. I hope this series continues and really digs into the final question you posed, Michael: what is the strategic approach to tackling something of this magnitude, and how does this movement intersect and align with the movements for global justice, against finance, and for socialism?
