The "Shrum curse" and the whole industry of professional class consultants is a terrific example of the entire much wider spread and pervasive "business consultancy" profession which was pioneered by McKinsey Co. There was a guest on TMBS or MR recently who was talking about this, or who wrote a book about it? I forget the title. Can anyone remind me? I think it was related to the rise of the Temp workers. There was a dude who started the Temping industry, and whose business suddenly took off like a rocket once the consultancy class realized they were all basically Temp workers too, and they could disintegrate entire industries by using the Temping model to basically destroy worker solidarity and put all the power into the executive class. The full horror of this stage in modern capitalism is only tempered a little by the fact that business consultancies are mostly snake oil sales jobs. A well run organization should never need consultants. A good organization will instead consult it's workers and solve problems by cooperating more and communicating with each other. like Edwards Deming would have recommended (Deming was often referred to as a management consultant, but he would probably think that was an insult.)

If family history is part of one's political credentials then Elizabeth Warren is not as neolib as Brooksey and Pareen made out. Her family knows what the precariat is like, as far back as 1962 her family had a car repossessed because they could not repay a loan. Her academic field is bankruptcy law, and you can guess why. Sure, it does not make her a socialist or leftist, but I would say they are street creds. So I think she can be persuaded by good evidence to back true leftist policies.

Hold on a minute though! Can you get more pea-brained than suggested by this comment "she began to vote Democratic in 1995 because she no longer believed that to be true, but she states that she has voted for both parties because she believed that neither party should dominate." (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elizabeth_Warren) That's kind of mind-blowing. It is not quit IDW thinking but something more naive. What is it? Like, today let's make 4 a prime number because 2 is so lonely among all those odd primes.
