This was a super interesting after show! Something that sparked up in my mind while you guys were discussing astrology reminded me of something that I learned about in cultural apology was that we as a mainstream Western culture often have a different value system than other cultures and this idea that we are the best and so "civilized" has often resulted in the devaluation of what's important to other people. this can really be seen with the native people who were here before the colonization from the Puritans but also can be seen in regards to things that we now embrace like yoga, meditation things that have been derived from more Eastern philosophiesand now we have the Neuroscience that backs up everything that you know people in the Eastern world have known for years about the benefits but we don't see it as legitimate in the Western World if we don't have that data. Why this obsession on purely "rational" ways of thinking can actually be a bit of a handicap because we rely on someone else to tell us what is true and what we should value but we also close our mind off to things that we cannot completely comprehend and will only see it as legitimate if there's proof. but scientists can be exploited and bought and sold so even people who claim to be "rational thinkers" can be led astray.

One last thing... this also can be seen with the increasing value that we startimg to see in the world of psychedelics and their efficacy and things like treating major depression, PTSD, anxiety the list goes on
