Superb show... You continue to up the game. Cudos...but MB, calling GHWB a prick is a complete understatement. Lovin' the BBC countdown...reminds me of home.

It is hard to believe in "great men" theories. But this episode shows what happened to one who was feared (Hampton) and one who soon will be feared (AMLO). In AMLO's case, I think it's a wonderful story, because I really don't think AMLO would be Mexico's leader without massive popular support from his people. His people are great, and he is riding the wave they are generating. So even if AMLO is assassinated god forbid, or his administration crippled by the CIA economic hitmen, his people will still be a great hope for ridding another country of the plague of neoliberalism and the shadows of fascism which also ways follows the neoliberal collective like a grim reaper.

Griscomb... ya lis'nin'? What I'd love to hear from you is what your take on the debt-deflation mechanics is. You no doubt know of Steve Keen, and if he's ever visiting the US I'd love you to invite him on TMBS to expose comrades to his post-Keynesian take on monetary economics and MMT. But Michael Hudson too, he's as good value as Wolff. What those two guys both might say (from what I can gather) is that post-2008 has been a very slow recovery because the bail out was to the wrong people which averted total disaster but only for the financial sector, but then they say that the next recession will likely not be a severe crash, it will be a slow crash because or gradual recession because private debt is still too high so the boom preceding a major crash is likely not going to boom this time. My question would then be, could this be even more disastrous? Why? Because (I'd hypothesize) without a major crash rivalling the great recession people are likely to still not see the deep flaws in capitalist market economics. Would you agree that's a real danger, a way for neoliberalism and zombie economics to keep walking the Earth? I really worry about this a lot, because while a think the Accelerationists are batshit crazy, I think the way these zombie neoclassical economics ideas are going to die is by showing up in severe crises. If we do not have a severe crash soon, then really bad things could happen much longer term. I don't want to wish another financial crash on the world, but if Bernie or someone who'd actually listen to Wolff or Hudson is in the White House at the time it is possible the next great recession crisis could be a fantastic thing: resulting in private debt forgiveness, and a new age of non-austerity socialist economics. I guess you might criticize this as catastrophe theory wishful thinking, but that's historically how a lot of significant progressive change has come about in the past, through crises followed by "victory". So I'd say it is even more critical than the SCOTUS seats, to have a world leader(s) around 2025-2030 who can actually listen to the MMT/post-Keynsian/neo-Marxist "rebel" economists, someone who will not bail out the banks but instead decimate the debt of ordinary people, put the fraudulent bankers in jail, nationalize the big banks, and regulate the F out of the blood sucking rentier financial sector. Kavanaugh will be a disaster for justice of course, but F him. What's potentially a lot worse is if the Orange Emperor, or the Sexually Repressed Pence, or whoever from that psych ward GOP, is still in charge come the next crises, because then seriously bad things will happen to the poor and working class which will make post-2008 look like a bad shopping trip, with debt peonage effects lasting generations, while zombie capitalism still roams.
