Missouri State professor Djene Bajalan (@DjeneBajalan) join us to discuss Trump's draw down of troops in Syria. How deeply did has the US driven into Syria and what's our role in the brutality. What is the nature of the Kurdish political project, and how is it threatened by the power vacuum to be left by the withdrawal.

It's fascinating that amongst people who have been brutally oppressed on all sides, without a recognized nation border and suffering a crippling diaspora, we see some real effective implementations of socialism, and to correct Djene, these are not mere "experiments"! I hope we see more states around the globe emulating the Kurds of Rojava, but unfortunately in liberal democratic countries most likely to lean towards anarcho-syndicalist socialism the process will probably be extremely slow due to built-in inertia in current liberal democracies. I often wonder if there is some other path towards true emancipation of the working class, something not involving the devastation that the Kurds have suffered?
