If all Yang2020 fanbois would hear this discussion starting around @30min it would cure so much delusion, and cure Bidenism and Betoism and all the technocratic neoliberalism strains. Brilliant. Thanks for clipping that segment for the youtubers. Thanks so much you guys.

Harvey and Brooksy attenuate Bessner's "post-work world" comments well. Can I amplify a bit...? It's not really a post-work world we seek, what we should look for is an extended justice with a consequent extended freedom -- (contrary to what that idiot Van Jones said at CPAC recently, justice comes before freedom, always) -- the freedom from wage slavery and economic injustice is possible, I would argue, only once Just social structures are put in place. In relation to "work" this means freeing people to do work they love. That's a proper post-work world IMHO. It's not zero work, it is zero wage slavery. If people want to create awesome art, or even crappy art, or look after kids or the elderly, or teach students whatever the hell they (the students) want, or teach themselves and share their learning freely, or grow weed, or harvest organic crops, then they should be empowered to "have at it", by applying friction-free for a government job guarantee compensation. What the "post-wage-slavery" structures should also permit is job sharing in the private worker coop sector, so that high paying jobs are not "hoarded" by any privileged elite class of highly educated nerds. In a true humanist spiritual socialism, people can still get great compensation for skilled work, but such work opportunities should be shared, the less skilled comrades can always be nurtured and helped to fulfill a vital social function and in doing so become more skilled. No one is socially or economically stagnant, unless by choice. The thing is, human activity costs energy, so someone must produce food and energy, and that's all "work" is, if socially accepted and legal. (And BTW, this is what truly underlies Marx's labour theory of value, it's not actually human labour, but the energy a person needs to expend to turn bio-energy into value added products. What even some Marxists miss is that a lot of energy is expended on just overcoming depression and anxiety and other psychological symptoms of working for a "boss", which are built-in [some cynics might even say by design] collateral damage to traditional capitalist wage-slavery work.). The meaning of work gets massively expanded and this is not post-work society, it is post-slavery society (sorry to coopt that loaded word, but it's not unwarranted I feel). Maybe I should say post-servitude society. Hope this makes some sense.

Although Bessner did not get to talk as much as usual in the three-way format, it was a really good dynamic. Perfectly mediated by Brooksy.
