Hahaha. Guys, comrades, TMBS friends, I love MMT questions. MMT is objective descriptive monetary economics. It cannot generally tell us what to do policy wise (other than pointing out what is lunacy, like trying to run a government surplus), it is agnostic on whether capitalism or worker coop socialism is the fairer more humane system. So lefties simply MUST get to grips with MMT/MCT to understand how to use fiat money to benefit workers and society as a whole and to defang capitalism. Ex. MMT says if you want to shrink the economy then run government surpluses (Is that good or bad for society? MMT cannot say, is it good to starve the economy to force people to work longer hours? You have to ask a socialist for the correct answer.) Ex. MMT says taxes do not pay for anything, deficit spending is what fuels the economy, taxes redistribute and quell inflation. (So are taxes good? MMT cannot say, you have to ask a socialist about how redistribution should work, and who should be taxed and at what rate.) Ex. MCT says free trade results in massive trade imbalances. (Are trade imbalances good? MCT cannot say, you have to have a critique of international trade and labour + natural resource exploitation to say if it is good or bad and whether nations running trade deficits need to be either slapped with huge tariffs to stop their exploitation or helped with development aid to grow their domestic industries so they do not need to import so much.)

Stephanie Kelton, Michael Hudson, Pavlina Tcherneva, Randell Wray and others have been using MMT to argue in favour of progressive policy for well over a decade, including proposals like a Job guarantee and deficit funding of universal programs. Lefties need to be all over this, and it's disappointing Sanders and Warren still talk about the government deficit as if it is a bad thing. That has to stop. It is false at all times other than when there is hyperinflation. And even under hyperinflation, running a Federal surplus is not necessarily a cure, usually anti-corruption crackdown, cracking down on corporate cronyism, cracking down on hand-outs for the rich, and stopping war spending are the cure for hyperinflation. Giving the poor a living wage is never a cause of inflation, MMT shows if anything welfare spending is mildly deflationary. This is worth knowing! Capitalists do not want lefties to know all this, because it is objective monetary fact which undermines conservative neoliberal policies.

The Muller report was about Republicans policing Republicans and now controlling that information, I'm not surprised with the outcome, this is why I can't stomach MSNBC. MSNBC should be concerned with things like the health care industry is now giving generously to leaders of the Democratic Party at the DCCC. The industry investment is paying off. None of the candidates endorsed by the DCCC supported “Medicare for all” unlike Bernie Sanders.
