I remember browsing through an article, I think it was from teleSUR, about the Venezuelan elections (this was before they held their elections) that contradicts the narrative we've been getting from all current outlets. The article detailed how the far right candidates conducted internal polling and the numbers were bleak. Apparently this motivated 2 of the candidates to meet with American operatives for assistance in throwing the election their way. The operatives concluded there would be no way to do so without being easily exposed. They were advised to boycott the election so that western MSM could paint Maduro as a dictator running unopposed. One of those 2 candidates panicked towards the run-up and broke with the boycott, ran and lost handily. At the time I thought that destroyed "dictator running against no one" election narrative. But it seems like they ran with that narrative anyway and all mentions of the actual events leading up to that election were buried. I can't seem to find the article anymore. I think it got algorithm'd off search engines or maybe the only available copies are now only in Spanish. But if you guys could follow up on this I'd be grateful. I think it might clean up a MAJOR mischaracterization that many leftist outlets keep repeating for lack of sources.
