Michael used to throw this term around more... the core brand proposition. With regards to Hasan Minhaj, that´s exactly why he and his team chose to peddle what are essentially lies about Dilma and Lula, because he´s catering to an audience that has already bought into that version of Brazil´s history as presented by US mainstream media.

Nice G.E.M. I think Griscomb has the better more nuanced analysis. Dean Baker's analysis is dangerously naive. He predicted the 2008 crash by noting what was obvious, the housing bubble. But he lacks a proper complex systems macro analysis which Steve Keen provides (both won the Revere Prize for predicting the 2008 crash). The problem is not simply the level of private debt, it is the ratio of debt to GDP or real productivity. Because when productivity tanks you get positive feedback loops which worsen debt, and no amount of stock sell-offs will help. To sell stocks you need a buyer. If others are too over-leveraged to buy then you are f__ked. Then you cannot pay your debts, and the whole financial sector snowballs until the public yet again cop the fallout and bail-out the criminal elites. You cannot look only at the stock market, it is not a reliable barometer of economic health, in fact the stock market generally runs against good economic essentials, as Minsky would have noted, the stock market is exuberant before every crash, which is evidence of basically a giant collective aggregate Ponzi market.

Awesome interview on David Feldman Michael. Much love from Montana. Fuck Gianforte, Zinke, Daines and tester. Jay inslee is a fraud. Watch his townhall with the puyallup Indian tribe about the LNG plant inslee allowed construction to start on puyallup native land without a proper environmental impact
