Great show. One thing I think we need to harp on: if you folks are DEADLY SERIOUS about helping Bernie win, then you need to use your networks to get him listening to his economics advisor Stephanie Kelton. He is shooting his chances in the feet (and more!) by declaring middle class tax hikes are needed to pay for social programs. Besides being Mondale-level-STUPID it is simply wrong. Taxes "pay" for low inflation and "pay" for lowering wealth inequality (but only if progressive), but taxes do not pay for universal social programs providing material goods and services, in fact they do the opposite since taxes suck money OUT of the real economy. Y'all know this. If in doubt, read: "The Deficit Myth": https://stephaniekelton.com/book/ I would volunteer to campaign for Bernie and knock on his door with a gigantic brick to tell him this, but I live in Aotearoa New Zealand, so am a little too far away. So hoping I can deputize some comrades to do this. Lefties should not be proud about being economically illiterate on monetary dynamics. The GOP know they can use the deficit to fund the military. Lefties need to know they can flip it and use the deficit (and not taxes on wage earners) to fund social programs. When hyperinflation is a non-existent threat wage taxes can be ZERO. Tax rentier finance activity, not wages. Why can't Bernie say this? It is leftie political malpractise to use austerity thinking (tax hikes on wage earners) to "pay for" student debt cancellation and M4A and other universal programs. Tax hikes on wage earners are one half of neoliberal austerity, the other being cuts to social programs, Bernie needs to oppose BOTH types of austerity.
