twisted tea cozy

is anyone arguing that Sanders and Warren are "basically the same" actually doing as much in good faith? I tend to think not...

This discussion about how great it was for Artesia to go on Medicare -- this is a good answer for that caller who was asking, "what's a good response to the public option politicians?" Artesia nicely articulated how it felt to have financial peace of mind as far as health expenses, and know she could see the docs she needed. In a public option, which would look more like Medicaid, patients will still have to navigate the complex and arduous system of finding docs who will accept them. My response (speaking as both a doc and as a patient) is, medicare for all with a private option.

M4A + public option is only needed if a compromise is needed to get the votes. Economically the solution should be M4A + nothing other than a schedule of things like cosmetic surgery or cryogenics which are not eligible for M4A. Even better, would be free healthcare. There is no need for an insurance pool because Federal governments with fiat currency can issue money on demand at the touch of a keyboard, they don't use taxes to pay for anything. Tell me why insurance is needed for proper health care? There's no good reason right? It is not a competitive market when there is a monopoly supplier. In such a situation you ensure quality care and non-fraudulent use of the government spending by oversight and regulations. That's not rocket science. Patients can lodge complaints. Accountants can do sums.

@1:02:00 Someone tell Artesia her tax payments are not needed to fund M4A. The government issues money, it does not need taxes for revenues. Taxes serve only to limit inflation and make the dollar valuable and redistribute, they do not actually pay for anything at the Federal level --- they can't non-debt fund anything --- if the government taxes back more than it spends each year then private debt increases. Government MUST deficit spend. The question is not about how much, but rather where the funding must go to mobilize needed resources. I will keep harping on about this until you TMBS'ers get it right.
