Bolivia's coup. An all too familiar story, at least to me. My parents never forgot the CIA's 1953 coup in Iran, ousting Mohammad-e- Mosaddegh, it's legitimate prime minister. They never forgave the US government and President Eisenhower for nipping Iran's democracy 's bud. And yes, my parents knew from day one that the coup was the American job, on behest and under the pressure of British government, and British oil company. Bolivia's coup. That the only thing a dying Empire knows.

We need a fundamental change in order to save America from full blown fascism, not a great American quilt , aka Warren's plans.

I presume you've heard John Perkins' account of the CIA economic hitman Kermit Roosevelt? What the USA did to your country was a high crime against humanity, I hope a future International Criminal Court has the power to prosecute that crime, and many others similar in nature around the worlds. esp. in Latin America.

@32:40 John McDonell is pretty good, except for one key thing, his insane "fiscal responsibility rule", which he adapted from Gordon Brown. It is a direct capitulation to neoliberal austerity and will hamstring UK Labour reforms. It restricts "day-to-day" spending to limits of what can be taxed. But taxes do not pay for government spending, the government can issue money at will, just by voting to authorize spending. By limiting day-to-day spending this artificially restricts progress on a true left agenda, and causes austerity (private debt) and is thus recession pressure, which limits people's spending power, which squeezes small businesses, and leads to cuts and then job losses, and a downward slide into a depression. Someone with real influence please tell McDonnell for the love of god not to implement this fiscal responsibility rule. It is madness. I would not want to ever stop my government from spending on the needs of people in debt and poverty just because they cannot get enough tax money. Taxes are to limit inflation, not to finance the government. UK Labour does not need tax money from the wealthy for anything other than limiting their power, they should thus certainly tax capital, but it does not need to be linked to government spending. Properly named it is a fiscal irresponsibility rule.

@35min ... McDonell & Corbyn do not need to loan the workers the money to establish worker coops, they can just give them the money. UK government has the monopoly on issuing £. The only reason on Earth the coop would need to give anything back to the government would be due to inflation pressure, or currency ForEx pressure hurting importers, but existing taxes take care of that.
