Žižek on Brexit: it is not clear to me UK Labour have botched Brexit. They were put in an impossible bind, frying pan vs fire, by Cameron. I mean Cameron almost guaranteed the Tories could not lose, not matter how feckless and obscene Johnson is. So many working class folks want Brexit... for all the wrong reasons. That's Corbyn's dilemma. As Žižek points out, Labour should not want Brexit, the workers should not want Brexit, but since so many natural Labour voters do want it, Labour is f__ked. Those folks will hold their noses and vote for that madman Johnson and then they'll get a British Isles Singapore, only without the prosperity! Double f__ked. What few people realise is that the UK was one of the few countries which had the best of all worlds with the EU, they kept their own currency. All they needed to do was to also abandon the 3% GDP deficit requirement of Maastricht, then allow a larger deficit, and their economy and trade would be roaring. It is a gdamn tragedy, and none of it can be blamed on Corbyn, none of it.
