Alexander Cockburn used to say that when he young and was experiencing some sadness over failed young love or a feeling of bleakness about the world around him his father, the legendary Claud Cockburn, would hand him a well-thumbed through volume of Lenin's Collected Works, saying "this will cheer you up." After last week's events, I've been feeling the need for a similar jolt. I've also included some interesting thoughts by Asad Haider on an ongoing depoliticization in the socialist/communist movement. Round it off with Grace Blakeley's important advice for the left, and a vintage Alexander Cockburn on CSPAN.
