Hey everyone. Who better to defend Castro than Castro himself as he did in this text here from 2003. From that Ernest Mandel looks at the roots of American imperialism. Lastly, I came across this interesting letter by Engels on the lack of a third worker's party in the US (via Doug Henwood's Facebook). And if you are in need of some inspiration I've also included Che's famous 1964 speech to the UN.

While I appreciate seeing Che address the less than SRO UN audience, I couldn't understand the bulk of his prepared statement. What I did get was his rousing close, "Patria o Muerte!," and the Security Council audience's most enthusiastic response to his call. Thanks for the cue.

On another matter: From Mandel's 1970 piece: "...the continual increase in arms expenditures,...requires international conflicts in order to justify this expansion to the American taxpayer." How might a Bernie presidency throttle back, to any appreciable extent, on the military behemoth's stranglehold on the loud right and the airwaves it controls?

It is going to be a fight, but like every fight counter-moblization is the key. Think of how many people in just the past 4 years are now using the word imperialism to describe the US war machine? That's how we win. - David Griscom
