Two thumbs up to you and the crew, Michael! Two middle fingers up to corporate politicians, sociopathic plutocrats and their media propagandists!

Chuck Johnson

Glad I caught this tonight, and I appreciate the time spent on the idea that building a mass working class movement will require working with people who might currently be GOP due to decades of culture war politics. I'd love to know who is doing work on this presently, who to read etc. And if there are episodes where you all have discussed this in depth. Thanks!

What Chuck said. I am not GOP, by any stretch, but I have a strong Constitutional Monarchist streak, and sometimes wish we had either never left England, or had the kind of formalized Commonwealth status that Australia and Canada had/have. When Elizabeth II goes, I will wear a black armband. And yet, I am a fervent Bernie Bro and Social Democrat, because I believe it’s what this country needs. Part of this broad working-class movement has to be pulling the Overton Window far to the Left, and undoing the Reaganite/Thatcherite damage. I pray for the day when Social Democracy is no longer the locus of a partisan divide in this country, because we all accept it and agree to fight about everything else. Solidarity.

On the topic of voter fraud, vote rigging and suppression: just saying there's no proof and oh well let's move on to the next topic because we're powerless to do anything is pretty weak. You guys have enough clout to get out there and at least badger DNC members *and* the Bernie campaign. And since he's been cheated since 2016, why not champion an Indy run by Bernie?? If nothing else, say fuck you to the insufferable Dem establishment and stand firmly with the all the people who gave money and stood by him the last five years. If the Left is ever going to win, we have to give no quarter and fight on every front like right-wingers do! All the justification Bernie needs is right here, from 2017 no less! https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/dnc-argues-in-court-we-dont-owe-anyone-a-fair-primary-process?_amp=true

Addendum: I guess it’s kind of pointless at this point and you guys have been the best on this, but imagine how Trump’s base would have been full-throatedly bashing the RNC and MSM if they had tried to thwart his rise at every turn..?? Whereas we have basically just rolled over. Still sticking in my craw like a mfer... Love you guys absolutely, you’re doing the best work so don’t get me wrong on that front ✊

At the Praxis Peace Institute Zoom book club virtual meeting today in Sonoma California, we had a vigorous discussion of "Mindf*ck", the story of Cambridge Analytica's role in both Brexit and the Trump 2016 'black swan' event. I reprised the TMBS and Chapo lines on the role of MSM manufacture of consensus in producing the remarkable hegemonic snap-back by the corporate Democrat core after the DNC Capo di Tutti, Obama, cleared the primary field overnight after Super Tuesday. It was, frankly, an impressive flex by a political organization that I, like most of the Left, had regarded with disdain. When recommendations for titles for the next month's meeting were raised, I typed into the group chat "Against the Web" by Michael Brooks from Zero Books via Red Robin Press. I then hit the ‘Raise Hand’ button and gave them a carefully rehearsed 3m pitch. We’re on the docket! I’m driving this New American Left counter-hegemonic discourse deep into the nearest normie territory which I am contiguous. That qualifies as political work.

I'l tell ya what blows my shit in this fucked up deal here. I don't believe we truly see 'why' we get to this place. We look at our political hero Bernie and see him bringing a revolution when the truth is he is only pointing us toward a direction of true revolution, but his immediate results are still embedded in capitalism, just a bit socialized. The Green new Deal is a political event, or at least one driven by the government. But it only begins to look like the revolution we need to remain a species. The revolution we need is not really even talked about, maybe you get some of it with Deep Green Resistance, but again only pointing in the direction but not getting all the way there. "There" would look something like this episode of Star Trek TNG. https://www.netflix.com/watch/70177987?trackId=14277281&tctx=0%2C24%2C6dcd7d1f-2ac1-4bdd-84e7-c426b97c49cf-71867181%2C%2C

Even George Washington would agree with the Cuba revolution tactic. You couldn't openly support the monarchy or even be tory party member. On November 15, 1775, George Washington wrote to Connecticut Governor Jonathan Trumbull: Why should persons who are preying upon the vitals of their Country be suffered to stalk at large, while we know they will do us every mischief in their power? Would it not be prudence to seize of those Tories who have been, are, and that we know will be active against us?
