In September 16th of 1978 an earthquake in magnitude of 7.4 shook the central Iran around city of Tabas. Tens of villages flattened and tens of thousands lost their life. This incident was the last nail in the coffin of Iran's Monarchy. The incompetence and amount of corruption extended the misery of the survivors of the region. The Pahlavi dynasty was imploded on February 11 1979. This is deja vu. Next is general strikes. Might not this year, but for sure is coming. And from then on, who knows we may end up with a full blown totalitarian regime ( far left or far right, but mostly far right regime) or go the way of Franklin D Roosevelt. We might still have a say in it. Just have to push for Rooseveltian solutions. Alas, left has been battered for decades and reviving it is like rising the Phoenix from the ashes.

Richard Wolf on fire tonite; wicked smart. But wonder what he and David think about humans need for normalcy and how that can drive people to conform and accept the risk that corporate and govt is not and likely will not mitigate risk entirely. Its Small's conundrum, many of his co-workers made different risk equation. What made the difference for him in the calculus? how do we create a structure politically NOW o allow others to be Small?

Prof Wolf talked about some similar stuff on his newest vid on the Democracy at Work channel with his wife, therapist Dr. Harriet Fraad -- she's great! He also had a great ep with their daughter recently, who's also a psychologist, talking about the psychology of work. Highly recommended
