Going to cash my check and ordering your book tonight. I've been looking forward to buying this since the first day you said you were writing it.

Ricardo Cardenas

Love the new intro music. Excellent show as always

Brilliant conversation. The most constructive, realistic yet hope-inspiring post-Bernie exit thing I’ve seen

E. P. Haury

A revolution would be crushed by the police and the military. Makes sense. If they were somehow able to get going, would something resembling a unified, striking labor movement or a civil rights era style civil disobedience movement similarly be crushed by those forces now?

McKenna

Really great conversation! Touches on some post-Bernie 2020 conversations I’ve been having with a comrade lately, who’s also very interested in Joshua Kahn Russell’s recommendations re: utilizing praxis theory in local/community organizing.

Joshua Baker

Great stuff! I like the commentary on the origin of the identity politics in the white suburban middle and upper middle class and their application of standards on the rest of society. To a large extent this is the DNC's greatest source of power to counter the left. The tie in to Calvinism is great as well and I'd like to hear more from Daniel on how that informs politics today. Does that include the Puritan culture and the Protestant work ethic?

Danny Heim

The left did fine in 2020. It's just that there is so much to overcome. So the thing to do is keep at it and put more into it in 2021 "if you can". If you can't do the same.

Joel Smith

I think thats accurate to say we did "fine".....But I think i'm starting to realize that doing fine will never beat the DNC. We have to be viscous. We have to be damn near perfect I think. Going up against the DNC is no joke. Even if we somehow get a viable third party.....the dnc will be a massive road block still. I get that Bernie is nice and whatever. I want a candidate that will go after Biden hard during the debate and quit saying biden is a good guy and your friend. We don't have time for that shit. I want a candidate that will say biden is a friend to nobody and then list why. I was going to vote for bernie because i like a lot of his policies but to me he was just a conduit to an actual leftist in the future that goes more left than bernie on foreign policy. I want a candidate that says no more sanctions. But anyways....stay safe my friend. I love your profile picture too.

Cool, finally have time to watch this!

Tbh, after going through the stages of Bernie grieving, as someone who frankly loves the guy and was ecstatic when he presented in 2015, it was heartbreaking to see that he wasn't going to hit Biden hard, someone we all thought would be a wholly satisfying takedown for Bernie. In that light, it's really hard not to feel completely let down. So I guess the upshot is just that "hey, let's not get confused and sentimental about who our friends and enemies are. Let's fucking identify them, name them, call them out for our fellow brother and sisters, and laser focus on defeating them."

Chuck Johnson

Great conversation! This is reminding me to 1) revisit the work of Timothy Brennan and 2) buy your book!

Im troubled by how much I agree with what's been said so well in this conversation. Feeling like a pathetic stan
