I agree with everything you all said about China. But an hour long conversation about China without a mention of the Uyghur concentration camps rubs me the wrong way. Why should China be treated any differently by the Left than Israel is? Saber rattling towards a hot or cold war, disingenuous demonization, or erasure of the good China has achieved should all be denounced. But I don’t understand why the Camps, the Occupations both in Central Asia and Tibet, and the erasure of indigenous peoples and their cultures carried out by the Chinese State are not the foremost issue when the Left speaks about China.

We don't want to pattern after China, we gotta figure out our place with democracy while dealing with our number one problem first, mass consumption and endless economic growth. Until we figure out how stupid we are marching towards extinction there is no model to consider. It's like skipping your underwear and going straight to jeans...hurts ur balls.
