I think it's a mistake to accept or air the framing of IDPOL censorious moral panics and cancel culture as a phenomenon of the organized left, as "Left-wing censorship". Put antifa deplatforming in that category, sure. But NYT's staff revolt and twitter mobs raging at minor transgressions like the one that led to Adam Shor's firing, I don't think you should concede these are the property of a left. The issue needs more nuance than Chomsky has time bring to it. Taibbi's article was hackish.

Wasn’t Chomsky’s point that this is not exclusively the province of the left? He succinctly stated that whilst de-platforming can be a mistake for the left, the right has always been more successful at it. It’s not a phenomenon exclusive to either side is what I got from what he said. Happy to be wrong. 👍🏻✌🏻👊🏻✊🏻
