Did Michael Pollan ever come on MR? Would he work as a guest on TMBS?

Michael Dziengel

Where is the post-game? I still can't find it, been a patron for months. Why isn't it here on the patreon page? Frustrating to say the least, I feel like I'm a moron. That notion is subject to debate.

I'm really skeptical about the 1932 FDR comparisons and Biden. If any thing Biden is more like FDR's VP, John Nance Garner -- a guy from the party's right-flank. FDR was a fairly progressive governor -- e.g. not a guy who shied away from using state authority to cushion the blow of the Great Depression in NY. He was in a state where there was a strong left movement. He didn't bring in a bunch of right-wing political hacks in to run his government either. There is no Huey Long waiting in the wings, offering a viable threat on economically populist issues. In the past series of Senate primaries, the left has been beaten pretty badly. A guy like John Hickenlooper may help shift the balance of the Court, but policywise there aren't a lot of issues where he is going to be far to the left of the current GOP incumbent. The candidates who won Senate seats in 2018 running as Dems are conservatives. The ones positioned to flip GOP seats, are also conservatives. Progressives and socialists have scored some important wins this cycle at the local and state level and in a handful of House races. But nothing higher than that. If there's a breakthrough in the near-future, I think it will have to come during the 2022 mid-terms. Opponents of single-payer health care, have to lose seats in primaries and then win the general election -- especially in the Senate. I don't think Biden or the current leadershp is in a position to break from their way of doing business over the past 40 years. They are personally invested in maintaining a version of the status quo. Their fundraising models are dependent on not rocking the boat too much. Even the people with a direct line to Biden, the people who are going to staff his administration, look like they will be more to his right. Biden may still be the necessary evil in relation to Trump, but I'm deeply skeptical of his willingness and capacity to adapt to the current political reality.

I can't believe anyone thinks Biden can actually govern given his advanced cognitive decline. The fact he's allowed to pretend to be a candidate only proves we live in a plutocracy hiding under a fake democratic republic. Vote harder next time and watch everything stay the same. Until the elite fear the masses again, the policy goals will remain unchanged.

It really doesn't matter who wins the election when you live in a plutocracy. Evil is evil and both Trump and Biden are members of the same cult so trying to distinguish between them is nothing more than a distraction at this point. Both parties are completely owned by the same crowd and Trump is just an unvarnished version of Biden. He was bribing the Clinton mafia up until he accidentally got elected by following Bill's advice. Foreign and economic policy goals will not change as long as the duopoly exists.
