Here is a list courtesy of Drew Mikhael of groups to support the people of Beirut. Please share!

Here is comperhensive list of local NGOs in Lebanon, most of whom are running emergency appeals for Beirut disaster relief. These are all established and reputable, committed to transparency and accountability.. Here is a digital list put together by civil society members in Beirut (includes local and international NGOs), with all the donations pages embedded. That list also includes the international NGOs currently operating in Lebanon if that's preferred.

**A lot of these local organizations have been hampered by the financial and economic crisis which started in autumn 2019, and have been unable to adequately access their own funds in banks to support their work. It's crucial to generate international donations and bring in so-called "fresh money". Also key, is bypassing any government-linked organizations because the money will not go where it's supposed to.
**To note: most groups are still in the emergency phase, providing immediate assistance and conducting needs assessment for various target areas. The bigger emergency appeal funds will be funneling to the smaller NGOs eventually, so you can either donate there or to the smaller NGOs directly.

After i donated, Beit al baraka says on its website they focus on retired older people. This is not what you’ve written in your post. Not a huge deal but it’d be nice to clear that up.

Thank you guys so much for posting this. I think a nice think for us to do for Michael’s birthday would be to donate to any of these these listed charities and any other ones in his name to celebrate not only his birthday but his legacy and his work.
