What We Are Reading (Patreon)

Hey y'all,

It's been a bit of a busy day here with all of the news regarding Jeremy Corbyn, if you haven't check out my most recent live stream on it here, hopefully tomorrow we will have an interview up regarding the detail of the case against him, which again are BS.

Anyway, here are a few quick pieces that are worth checking out if you are interested. First off, here is a selection from Frantz Fanon on "The Pitfalls of National Consciousness" where he outlines the difficulty of creating a new system out of colonialism while also struggling against what he calls the "national bourgeoisie." I briefly mentioned it during my Facebook stream with Brian Mier in celebration of Lula Day, they were kind enough to upload to Youtube here.

I wanted to take some time to remember Orlando Guitteriez, who was murdered by anti-MAS fascists this week, he was an inspiration and a true fight for freedom, democracy, and socialism. I hope to be able to do more to remember his work and life soon.

A couple of videos worth checking out. Richard Seymour, who is always worth reading, and Wendy Liu, who is also brilliant, had a great conversation on the question of social media and it's role in capitalism. Also I have a new video up with Jacobin that explains, it's capitalism not socialism that is a threat to your personal property.

And lastly, just sharing a bit of music if you are interested, one of my favorites, and country music greats, Billy Joe Shaver sadly passed away this week. I've shared one of his most beautiful songs below.

Thanks and always reach out with anything, I appreciate all of your support
