BIG NEWS! (Patreon)

Dear TMBS Family,

I really don’t have words to express how humbled and grateful I am for the compassion and support you all have shown Matt, David, my family and I over the last four months. The circumstances have been hellish, but it’s been so wonderful getting to know so many of you and hearing all of your stories.

When someone you love dies, you want the entire world to stop and grieve with you. That is what what it has felt like. You have been grieving with us.

When Michael first died, it felt like the only way to continue his work was to continue TMBS. But, as the months have gone by, our thinking about how best to continue his work while preserving his legacy has gotten more flexible and creative. We are really excited to share with all of you the new projects we have been working on behind the scenes.

First off, Matt and David will be launching their own show, LEFT RECKONING. It will be inspired by TMBS, but will give them space to develop their own political project in this new world without Michael.

LEFT RECKONING, like TMBS, will be a weekly show that will host special guests, including favorites from TMBS, along with new faces. There will be post games and bonus guests for patrons, in-depth coverage of US & international stories while providing a historical and socialist perspective. And they will most certainly continue the TMBS tradition of dunking on IDW wackos.

There will be  Griscom Streams on Youtube and Twitch throughout the week, gaming on Twitch with Matt Lech, theory readings, and much more.  JOIN ME AND BECOME A PATRON: patreon.com/leftreckoning. They will be providing a vital voice in the times ahead.

The second announcement is that The Michael Brooks Show patreon is going to become the home of THE MICHAEL BROOKS LEGACY PROJECT. We are working on several projects to honoring and continue Michael’s work, impact, and focus.  These projects include a book, a documentary, and a journalistic award in his name. We also will be continuing to produce the Illicit Histories that Michael was excited to make.

In addition, I will be hosting a show that is about Michael. I am excited to share a more personal side of my brother with all of you and chat with others about grief and loss with friends and peers.  I want to capture wonderful stories, memories and his insights.  The show is called THE BRIEF AND  WONDROUS LIFE OF MICHAEL BROOKS, named after the novel by Junot Díaz he and I both loved.

Both LEFT RECKONING and THE BRIEF AND WONDROUS LIFE OF MICHAEL BROOKS, will cross-streamed on the TMBS YouTube channel. The channel will stay up and in time we are hoping to turn it into a public common of resources, cross-streaming and voices of many of the leftists whose projects Michael was involved with or excited about. There will be  more details and information about the MICHAEL BROOKS LEGACY PROJECT in the coming months. Your continued patronage will be what will allow us to make sure these legacy projects can be realized.

In the meantime, we have an incredible line up for the final chapter of The Michael Brooks Show. A series of round table discussions starting with “The Future of the Left” featuring Cornel West & Slavoj Žižek, with Russell Sbriglia moderating , will air Tuesday December 1st at the regular time 7pm EST...ish. The series will continue through December On Tuesday nights  and will feature round table panels with luminaries that include Adolf Reed, Harvey Kaye, Richard Wolf, Heidi Mayfield and other TMBS favorites.  We will be hosting post game hangouts and answering questions all month long as well.

I appreciate and am grateful to every one of you for supporting my brother’s work, without you he couldn’t have done it. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me at lisha.tmbs@gmail.com,

Love, Lisha
