AHE: Test Designs 1 (Patreon)

   After Zaphryon left the project in April 2021, I immediately set about replacing him. In my experience, you can't judge an artist by their online portfolios, as those will be only their absolute best works. So, I set about hiring many different artists to do test designs for us so that we could accurately evaluate their cost, quality, and completion times.

    CookySpooky was hired to do a Kelly design for us, and initially he had the lowest price and the fastest completion time, finishing in just a few days. However, just before completion CookySpooky set about renegotiating his price upwards several times—which is a red flag, and then when he found out his design wasn't winning the patron poll he attempted to get hired again while pretending to be a different artist.

   Raichu was likewise hired to do a Kelly test design. Pleasant enough to work with, fair pricing, good completion time of a little over a week. The end result, however, was an unflattering hybrid semi-realism that didn't go over well with patrons in the poll.

   Finally, we hired Mr. Rawrden to do a Stephanie design for us. His commission price was higher and the design is outstanding... but we were in a waitlist for month and he took several more months to complete the order, so hiring him just wasn't viable with the amount of assets we need.
