I'm so torn between Emily being a good devil's advocate, and her having way too much history to give the girl a snowball's chance. She's too focused on the fact that Chloe doesn't deserve forgiveness, she doesn't see the fact that Brian deserves to be able to forgive her and doesn't deserve to be responsible for murder. Maybe Steph can help Chloe out enough that the magic can lighten the burden of making her stable. Steph is too pure to be protected by murder. Good luck on aquiring better housing!

Love the update and the new balance that's forming. It is a little concerning how willing Emily is to kill off Chloe, and good to see that no one else is on board with the idea. As for Chloe going to the Master's I really think it's a bluff or that she doesn't realize how bad that'll go for her as well, seeing as how she basically cost one an arm and another his entire brain.

Killing off Chloe… hmmm… people can be redeemed, but, she’s been broken a long time. Depending on magic to keep her sane seems to be a dangerous crutch. I could see her trying to go to others (the masters, or others like them) and getting herself killed / enslaved that way, if she could even find them. It couldn’t be uncommon for ’normies’ to run across magic users but finding them AND staying safe, separate, and keeping that knowledge of their society seems unlikely. In such a fictional world, there would likely be several (many) ways of keeping/blocking out/eliminating that information from general knowledge. Perhaps they need a course in “Maintaining secrecy 101” from Emily’s mom?

Emily and Brian are both missing out on the fact that love and hate are both strong emotions. And while I don't know if Chloe actually HATES Brian, she does have VERY strong emotions about him, such that she desires to be with him even when her Christine identity resurfaced. If she FEELS that strongly about Brian, I don't see how she couldn't be charm-compatible. N/L Good luck - hope you get the new place!
