Ukyo is one of my favourite characters. Also that short flashbacks shows that he was working with disaster efforts/rescue so it shows that he really cares about humanity and it's survival.

I tested myself by watching people reaction's when there was a shocking moment and counted, we are stun usually like 20 seconds, and then came to a realization and were like "wow, okay" Good analysis of the episode.
