ooh interesting! I will keep that in mind, but also i'm not really going for historical accuracy, since it's a fantasy world in a not specified time. Some choices can be just for the graphic purpose :D Thank you for the info!

I understand that you're not going for historical accuracy, but the 'tism demands that I at least make the correct form known. Whether or not you do anything with said information is up to you, obviously, but I would assert that it would look cooler if you blended historical fact (as far as equipment goes at least, anyway) into the fantasy. (But of course I would) As an aside, bracers would be a horrible armour against an actual strike anyway. Looks cool, sure, but wouldn't do much to actually protect you, and they (in most designs that I see) restrict your ability to move your wrists. Gauntlets wouldn't cost much more and would at least actually help.
