Channel Update - June 2018 | Next video and thoughts (Patreon)
Content
Hello there and here is an update!
Warning
Every single summer I keep saying to my fans that I to have a small break from my channel. First of all, I want to get some rest and enjoy this summer. Second of all, I will get an energy and new ideas for the future videos. Perhaps, you won’t notice it, because new video is already finished and then I can release a mini video showing GTA 3 FPS script.
~Next video -> GTA V - Beta weapons [Part 2]
As I previously said, it was a lost video, which is now fully finished. I managed to make a lot of enhancements to it. It has new facts and info. SWEGTA did a good job voicing me these changes.
Early access will be provided in the first half of the next month. Expect worldwide release somewhere in the end of the next month.
~GTA 3 FPS script
The script is fully finished. All I have to do is to find a man, who can fix me those broken animations. Previously, the guy didn’t have a luck with that.
~GTA SA – why PC port of SA was so horrible?
Few weeks ago, I had an idea to make a video, where I would explain people why PC port of San Andreas is so bugged in comparison with the worldwide PS2 release. For instance, I wanted to explain people why PC port doesn’t have an orange atmosphere as well as why some areas have no peds and etc.
So, I decided to contact “The Hero” or aap, who is known for restoring PS2 graphics on PC. He was the right person to talk about this. Sadly, I am not a coder and I didn’t get a lot of things he said. He told me that it is very important to explain people how the rendering works in-game… I don’t think that people will find it interesting…
When he explained me the GTA SA rendering, I felt like a grandpa, who can’t really imagine these things. I should think what I can do about this. But anyways, I can share you two facts right now.
It is hard to believe, but “The Hero” said that back then PS2 was in some ways superior than PC. As a result, the developers had a lot of problems to port some things to PC. He thinks, that the PC version lost an orange atmosphere because it wasn’t easy to port as well as it would require a better hardware to run the game. He also had a theory that the person, who was responsible in R* for porting “radiosity” was an unskilled intern, who didn’t understand what he was doing. He noticed that the code for it is totally broken and not finished.
Moreover, some areas don’t have peds, because the randomization function works different on PS2 and they didn’t care to find a fix on PC for it. On PS2 this function generates more numbers. Imagine a dice with 6 numbers. You roll the dice. On PC you can get number 1, 2 and 3, while on PS2 you can get all 6. Peds don’t spawn in specific area, because it requires the number 6, which you won’t get on PC. By the way, there are less places filled with grass on PC because of the same problem (As I understood).
AS I can see, there are a lot of broken things on PC. It sounds quite interesting, but the question remains how deeply I should go with these details. I don’t really want to explain people how the rendering works as aap wanted me to do. I will think about it more in depth.
~Videos about Vice City
As I noticed, people are very interested in cut content of Vice City. The problem is, the game was in the development for a short period of time. Sad thing is, there is nothing interesting left in the early previews of the game. Remember the first ever preview of GTA 3? I made a video about it. Damn, it was a true gem! I read the first ever preview of Vice City and didn’t find anything suspicious. What a joke. I noticed developers in many articles promised us swamps, but as you know, there are no swamps in the final game.
As I can see, there are no interesting magazines featuring Vice City…. Maybe I am not lucky enough to have a good one. By the way, here is newly acquired VC article… what a joke.
I will continue searching for a decent magazine. Thanks for supporting me!
~Got rid of those pesky yellow dollars
You know what is crazy? Youtube decided to restore monetization on both 9/11 videos.
Turns out my 3rd party partnership gave me a personal “manager”, who was kind enough to speak with Youtube about these videos.
What is more interesting is the fact that now I don’t have a single video with a yellow dollar sign. Previously I had about 8 demonetized videos. These yellow signs were shortly gone after I got an answer from my manager about 9/11 videos. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
~Age restricted GTA VC video
My manager also asked Youtube to remove “+18” flag on my GTA VC video. Sadly, they refused to do it, because they said that the video has sexual scenes as well as violence… Why English version of this video is still untouched? I don’t have a freakin clue.
As I previously said, I had an idea to make a video about cut content in “GTA SA JP” version of the game. As I previously mentioned, I decided to give up on this video, because JP version of this game mainly lost sexual scenes and a lot of gore. What is the point to make a video if it has a high chance to receive an age restriction and probably a yellow dollar sign?
~Next video after GTA V - Beta weapons [Part 2]
It is a damn hard question. Right now, I have a creativity crisis, that is why I want to take a small break from making videos.
Honestly, I am a little bit disappointed, because I thought that GTA 3 – Cut FPS mode will get more attention. It was a damn hard video to make.
There might be 3 reasons:
1) GTA 3 has a small fan base, because the game is old.
2) The video was poorly structured
3) Poorly made thumbnail and title
If first, then it makes me sad even more, because I have a lot of ideas about GTA 3.
If second, then I can agree by 40%. I could make this video simpler, but instead I decided to make an “investigation”.
If third, then it is hard to find the “right” formula.
Honestly, I am interested to make a video “GTA SA - how the ending was changed” or “GTA 3 -hidden debug features”. Who knows, maybe I will make something different. Time will tell.
Cheers!
