Development Stages of My Videos | Behind the Scene (Patreon)

Hello there!I decided to reveal more information about my work. Today we are going to talk about the development stages of my videos. I will reveal what it take me to make a video. I hope, it will be an interesting thing to read. 🤔
Everything starts with the topic
I start to analyze an "x" thing thinking about what I want to say and what I want to show. During this development stage I usually write down some notes. It can be a fact or a keynote. At the very same time, I try to imagine the video in my head. It helps me understand what should I do to make it real. Moreover, I think about the key elements below:
1. Will it be an interesting topic to talk about? During this development stage I ask the question below.
Will it be interesting for me to prepare this video?
I can't prepare a good video for you if I feel bored while preparing it. What is the point to make a video then? The truth is, everything I prepared in the past was an interesting journey for me to find these things. I just love digging in the game files and messing around with the game. No doubt. But if I don't see a good way to talk about newly discovered GTA 3 Alpha cars, I just think about something else. By the way, I remember a few ideas, which were scrapped, because I felt bored to investigate them further.
2. Will I be able to prepare a good narration/explanation?
Sometimes, due a to a lack of skills, I can't show some things in the way I wanted to. In this case I usually abandon the video. A good example is "GTA 3 - cut FPS mode" video, which was going to be a text video. Today I have a great support from other people, who can help me with some important things like looking in the game code and etc. But once again, if they find something, I should return to the question above.
3. Will I show something new or something old?
Of course, I want to talk mainly about new discoveries. I just don't see a point to repeat known information unless I find more facts about it. The good thing is, it isn't an obstacle for me. Not at all. I just hate other guys, who repeat the known information without looking for new clues. Trust me, these clues are not even hidden. Just open the game and find them, dammit.
4. Will it be a popular video?
I think, this is the most important question of them all. Why? Well, I don't want to waste my time preparing potentially disastrous video. It takes too much time to prepare these videos and if I feel that it is an unpopular video, I will try to find a new topic to talk about. The bad thing is, a lot of times I say "no".
When everything is considered
I start preparing the script. I look through the notes again and I check them in-game. During the writing phase I usually find something new and unique. Sometimes, I correct my own mistakes.
When the script is done
I read it for 5 times, polish it and send it to a narrator. Starting from this moment I just sit an wait for him to voice me the lines. When his lines are ready, I open Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, the game and make a video. I call it a "test" video, because it is the first version of my vision. This takes a lot of time.
When the test video is ready
I send it to some folks to hear their opinion. This is an early version of the video and it usually has a lot of unfinished things and these folks are prepared to see an unfinished video. Sometimes, these folks can recommend me to change something or they might reveal some details I missed. Pretty cool guys.By the way, here is a pre-test video of "GTA Vice City - Cut & Changed Content" which has a few cosmetic changes; background and headers. You are the firs ones, who will see it.
When the test video becomes a video
I start translating it. I send it to another narrator and wait. Basically, I repeat the steps above.
When both videos are done
I show it to a few other people. If they say that everything is okay, I share a link with you, guys. I usually release a video after one or two weeks, but it depends on circumstances. During this time I might change a few cosmetic things and maybe leave some Easter eggs in the video.Previously, I shared an English EA video before translating it. Today I try to avoid this, because there was a huge gap between EA and WW release.
When the video is out, I repeat the steps above. It is worth to mention that every single step might take a lot of time. Sometimes a narrator don't voice me my lines postponing it for two weeks or I can't decide what I want to talk about.
But anyways, I hope that it was an interesting thing to read. Thanks for supporting me!
