Right now it is Patreon exclusive post, but very soon it will be available for everyone.

Hi there!

After buying dozens of magazines on eBay I finally found something really interesting and I decided to share this find with you. It is a unique GTA 3 PS2 guide I found in PowerStation #69 with very unique screenshots. As you can see, the journalists played a pre-release version of the game and took a lot of pre-release screenshots, which they decided to use in this guide.

The scans are available in this post. If you want, you can read my quick facts about this guide down below.

Interesting finds

Let's start with the coolest screenshot in this guide. This weird looking face statue is missing in the final version of the game.  I wonder why the developers decided to get rid of it and didn't even leave a model in the game files! What a mystery. 👀

It seems that the journalists played a pre 9/11 build of the game. Why do I think so? Well, you can still see a blue police car in this guide.

~Yet again, Banshee has a strange rear bumper.

~The guide states that during the "Under Surveillance" mission Mafia guys were spying on Asuka's operations. As we know, it is FBI the final game .If I recall correctly, PS2 subtitles still mention Mafia goons while Asuka tells us about FBI in the cutscene.

Looks like the game had some serious performance issues sometimes. Just look at the building, they are LODs!

~As a bonus you can look at pre-release map renders in this guide.

And that's pretty much it. There might be more cool hidden facts in this guide, but I haven't analyzed it so in-depth.~~~

This magazine is a great example of what I am trying to find. You might be disappointed to see just a few cool pre-release screenshots, but trust me this is a lot. I usually find nothing in the articles. Sadly, I am still missing the part one of this guide and many more similar magazines, but I am still looking.  😟 ~~~

Special thanks to SpooferJahk for scanning me this issue! To reduce the shipping costs I usually ask people around the globe to buy me magazines. Instead of paying $40 I pay around $7 cluttering up someone's room.  😅
