Hello there! I hope you are doing well. As always I am here to talk about my plans and channel so let's get to it.

~~GTA SA - Why Remastered is garbage [Part 2]

Over the year I saw lots of comments where people were constantly asking me when do I do part two. Sometimes they even asked me where is the part 2 thinking that it is available somewhere. lol.But anyways, there is no secret. that the part one of this video is the most viewed video on my channel and it seems that people really enjoyed it and want to see more. This is super cool and that is why I had finally decided to work on the second part.

For those who are reading my updates for a long time know that originally "GTA SA - Why Remastered is garbage" was going to be one big video. BUT the more I worked on this project, the more material I had... and it was going on and on. Eventually I realized that the script is huge (about 44 pages if I recall correctly) and I still haven't covered lots of other flaws in this horrible port. I thought that it would take me forever to make this video and I decided to make two parts instead of one video.

The idea was great, because not only it allowed me to investigate better the flaws I had already prepared, but also to prepare something for the future. So I started butchering the script deciding what should I cover in the part one and what should I leave for the future.

Lots of flaws I wanted to present required me to play both versions simultaneously and it would be also perfect to show what I press on the joystick. Back then I had no better option then to film the joystick in my hands while showing the footage.

I won't gonna lie, it looks awful, but for two clips (I think) in the video it was an OK solution. You don't know it, but I also filmed lots of similar clips for the part two.

Eventually I found a way to play two games simultaneously by running two emulators at the same time.

Raw footage:

Take a look at the date. I captured this footage in July. The video was out in December.

Video:

It was so freaking cool to play both versions via one joystick at the same time, but as a downside you see lots of empty space and just two small windows with the footage. Even I didn't see great what is going on on the footage.In my honest opinion, it was unacceptable when you are not using like 50% of the screen while showing two games, but once again, it was an OK solution for a few clips in the video.You don't know it, but I also filmed lots of similar clips for the part two.

I always thought that the best way to present these differences is by enlarging two clips like this:This is something I constantly used while making "GTA SA - Japanese censorship" video.

It does look better, however I couldn't play both games simultaneously meaning I had to capture both clips separately. Moreover, I had no idea how to show what I press on a joystick during these clips.I didn't want to go with those small windows, because it would look something like this:

In other words, I had no clue how to show 50% of the flaws I wanted to talk about. Thanks to the previously mentioned problems, the clips I already captured looked awful . Then I decided why to leave this problem for the future?

As a result, those facts which required me to play the game simultaneously or show what I press were left for the part two and it kinda broke the balance.

Originally I wanted to mix topic something like 50% fun aspects/50% serious topics.Due to the fact that most of the serious topics were left for part two, the first part of the video mainly talked about the "fun" aspects of the Remastered and the formula was simple: "Hey look at this mess. Funny, huh?".

The problem is, the part two will be a completely different video, because the topics I am left with are:

Broken shooting mechanics;

Broken controls;

Downgrades;

Camera issues;

Mobile interface;

New textures;

Simplifications;

Shadows - bad or good?

and a few more topics

Most of these topics require me to talk about something in-depth. If I don't you will not understand what is wrong with the Remastered version and it is crucial to show these flaws.For instance, I have to explain how shadows work in PS2, PC and Remastered. If I don't, you won't understand that the shadow system in Remastered isn't as perfect as you thought in the past. Don't want to spoils much, but some objects in Remastered still have PS2 shadows, while on PC we already had dynamic shadows.

Moreover, some objects don't have shadows at all now. Even PS2 had them and we are talking about 2004.

Moreover, there are also some boring facts about Remastered.For instance, as soon as you press the exit car button, Carl exits the vehicle, but in Remastered it doesn't work like this anymore. In this version Carl will exit the car as soon as you release the button and it caused two issues:1. You will always feel a small lag by pressing this button, because let's face it, we usually push and hold it for some time.2. If you want to bail out from the vehicle, you will have to push and immediately release the button, because otherwise the car will brake.

Do you know why this button works like this in Remastered? Well, that's because the developers changed it for the mobile version and I have to explain all of this.

Of course, there are also pesky simplifications in the Remastered such as missing vegetation.

I think, you won't argue that the game looks empty without the vegetation, but take a look at the new textures too.

Don't want to spoil much, but the new textures made the game, in my opinion even worse. Some of them are HQ and some of them are LQ. What is more sad, most of them don't even match with one another.

What is more cool, I have finally found a way to capture two games simultaneously and show what I press on a joystick.

Just look at it, doesn't it look much better now? If only I knew about OBS in the past... As a result, I have to recapture lots of clips from the past, but, I think, it will be worth it.

As you can see I have everything I need to continue working on this project and I am working hard on it since December.

The only problem I have right now is I have no idea how to structure this video. I don't know how should I start the video and I don't know what would be the main idea of part two. I am thinking of using the term "we are playing mobile version on the consoles", but I am still not sure.

By the way, check this cool Tripod I bought for this video. Thank to it I can finally film how do I play mobile version if needed.

Right now I am looking through my notes, capturing the footage and writing the script. The stakes are high and, I hope, I won't fail.

I hope you've enjoyed this update and stay tuned for more. Thank you for supporting me!
