Patreon Changes for 2024! (Patreon)

Hello Giant Robot FM patrons! PMC here! It's almost the end of the year and we've got some plans for 2024, but part of those plans mean retiring some things we have been doing. While we haven't finalized things well enough to make the full and proper announcement, we wanted to at least provide some preliminary notice before the first of the month.

So what's changing?

• Simulator is being retired. While we are proud of the work we've done, we have decided we cannot keep doing this part of the podcast on top of new projects that we want to try.
• The Front Mission: Gun Hazard episode is partially complete (~2k words on production history) and we still plan on recording that in early 2024, but beyond that we do not plan on doing more Simulator episodes. This episode will be made available on the main feed.
• We still hope to record some video game coverage as a part of the main feed.

What's the new plan for 2024?

• Details are still being finalized, but we are working to provide something physical to $10 patrons on a quarterly basis. We hope to provide specific information on this within the first two weeks of 2024. For the first "quarterly" issue, we're only asking for 2 months at $10.
• A digital version of this physical item will be available to $5 patrons.
• For all patrons in the Discord, we are working on plans to solicit some input on selection of works to be covered in 2024. Not all works covered on the main feed will be patron-selected.

What about other parts of the Patreon?

• Moonrace Wireless is staying exactly the same and we already have guests planned through the spring.

Thank you for your continued support! We're looking forward to another year of big robots and podcasts! Happy New Year!
