This one gets its own post because it's a pan shot! Sam boarded this one with special instructions to pan the camera from right to left, so the background needed to be extra long. This is probbaly a no-brainer for long established studios- but this was actually our first time planning a more complex shot like this. Because each one passed through so many hands, communication between each part of the pipeline was crazy important. Ours looked something like this:

1. 3D Model

2. Storyboards

3. Character Cleanup

4. Backgrounds

5. Crowd NPCs

6. Color

7. Edit

Cleanup and Backgrounds were usually able to happen at the same time, since June was often the one finishing the character artwork while another artist worked on illustrating the backgrounds. That being said, there were so* many shots it would've been impossible for June to clean up everything all by themselves, so sometimes they would just redline directly over a storyboard and then pass the final line work onto someone else.

We decided to seperate the crowd NPCs from the "main characters" as well, given that there were so many crowd shots it just made more sense to split them amongst the staff. Shout out to Sam, Lemon, Fire, Wisp, and Izzy for their incredible crowd control skills!
