this animatic is really good! if i could offer one critique, it would be to not the follow the canon stylization of Kaufmo's lips. that lip stylization is based on minstrel shows; which a lot of American clowns do have roots to as well as American rubberhose animation racistly depicting Black people featured, which rubberhose and American clowns are clearly Kaufmo's two main inspirations. this style of lips (often mislabeled as "doughnut lips", "fish lips", etc) ive seen most often discussed within the "One Piece" fandom, regarding how to draw Usopp (the fandom thankfully errs on better lip stylization than what Oda chooses to draw). but i learned about it from my "Visual History of Racism" class back in college. so i understand if you didnt have that background in either fandoms— such as but not limited to "One Piece"— or in academic courses, that mistakenly thinking that stylization of lips is benign would become a blind-spot. i could talk more about how the issue became widespread in animation if asked, but i assume you would rather do personal research than have me info-dump. so i just wanted to let you know this blindspot existed, so you can address it how you like. for the record, i dont think anything badly of you for the mishap; i generally assume ignorance before malice. you dont know what you dont know. if you want to see how people generally re-interpret minstrel lips, i do recommend Usopp fan-artists as a decent resource for the variety in potential big lip stylizations. but i dont personally think reflecting Kaufmo's canon design for his lips one-to-one is the best course of action to take when drawing him. thank you for your time, and have a great day
