We often go way, way too long on our Ernest Roulette podcasts and end up cutting a good amount of our discussion for the sake of brevity.During our Goes To School episode, Shannon Strucci wrote in this great question:

Shannon StrucciYou guys have talked a little about Ernest vs the glass ceiling or Ernest's various working class jobs. What are your feelings specifically about the portrayal of class in Ernest films? Most current family or comedy films have middle- or upper-class protagonists (and what few working-class films are more "mall cop" than "southern handyman") and a lot of redneck humor is very mean-spirited and based on stereotypes and/or is from a cynical cash-in perspective, like Larry the Cable Guy. What do you think differentiated Ernest from those sorts of movies and humor, and can you think of any modern equivalent? I can't :(

We decided to post our long rambles here for Patrons-only. Thanks again for your support- we only have a few Ernest movies remaining on the wheel!
