This weekend we'll be filming our first batch of episodes for our new music video themed show!   Each episode will feature two of us sitting down to talk shop about a music video's place in the pantheon of mainstream entertainment, including the history behind the video and the usual musing we spout about. We wanted to reach out and ask our Patrons: what music video would you like us to watch?   Every few episodes we'll pull a random suggestion out of a hat. Those suggestions will come exclusively from our Patrons, so we need to get cracking on a laundry list of suggestions from you folks. The comment section below awaits your nominees!

Branden Diniz

The Game Zone - Hot Dad Nookie - Limp Bizkit

riley mouthmoodz

These probably aren't very good suggestions, but: anything by kyary pamyu pamyu, good day by tally hall, marble machine by wintergatan, and bad romance by lady gaga

mobius

If you could do nine inch nail's video for closer i would be even more in live with you guys.

mr k

Les Rockets - Future Game

Spencer Cain

Damn I could go all day, Yura Yura Teikoku- Tsumetai Gift, Battles- My Machines, Susumu Hirasawa- Sekai Turbine (no very good VHS rips online but it's really fun), Gorillaz- Melancholy Hill (or Clint Eastwood), Kraftwerk- Musique Non Stop (1986), Danny Brown: Aint it Funny and everything Riley said! Also for more culturally relevant something recent in pop music that was overblown at the time like Wrecking Ball could be fun. Sorry for the long comment (music videos are one of my things)!

Ryan Hennessy

The video for "I Can't Wait" by Nu Shooz was an obsession of mine lately.

Dylan Moss

Rockwell's "Somebody's Watching Me" because it's crazy.

Caleb Hicks

Return to Innocence by Enigma. It’s one of the few music videos to legit make me cry.

Araneae75

C'est la vie - B*Witched

Scott

I see you are already well aware that Sledgehammer by Peter Gabriel, the greatest music video ever created, is necessary viewing. To reward you for being so correct, I offer one of my favorite KPop music videos of all time. Dumb Dumb by Red Velvet. Enjoy. <a href="https://youtu.be/XGdbaEDVWp0" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://youtu.be/XGdbaEDVWp0</a>

Chris Spargo

Alt J - Breezeblocks Radiohead - Just

Spirit

The only thing that I can think of is Avril Lavigne's "Girlfriend", but I don't want to subject you to the 2000-2010 cringe. But I also kinda do.

Chris Love

Some good ones I like are: U.N.K.L.E - Eye for an eye <a href="https://youtu.be/sYW6uy0ocBo" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://youtu.be/sYW6uy0ocBo</a> Poseidon - Down I Go <a href="https://youtu.be/Ud6qGFH6pjE" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://youtu.be/Ud6qGFH6pjE</a> Eskmo - We Got More <a href="https://youtu.be/5WaoImXPMtE" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://youtu.be/5WaoImXPMtE</a> Xploding Plastix - Joy Comes In The Morning <a href="https://youtu.be/4Dm4y9s9vjA" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://youtu.be/4Dm4y9s9vjA</a>

Guaranteed

It's a standard thanks to Burnout Paradise.

Dustin Cooper

How about some 80s weirdness with: O Superman - Laurie Anderson Automatic Man - Michael Sembello Dog Police - Dog Police Sleepless - King Crimson Or something more normal and modern but really good with: Nautical Disaster - The Tragically Hip

Alex Johnson

Aerosmith - Livin on the Edge due to the overproduced set pieces and just generally odd choices that don't really line up with anything. Plus hey look it's Edward Furlong! Really any of their videos from the 90s. Devo - Peek A Boo Gesaffelstein - Pursuit Primus - Mr Krinkle

Paganomation

They Might Be Giants - Ana Ng Ultravox - Dancing With Tears in my Eyes Thomas Dolby - Hyperactive! David Bowie - Ashes to Ashes Rick Springfield - Bop Til You Drop Pete Townsend - Face Dances Part 2

Carla Hoffman

Guns n Roses - November Rain has to be in there for the bombastic production, not to mention Celine Dion's All Coming Back to Me (isn't that directed by Michael Bay?)

Frink Zippi

definitely anything by Michel Gondry or Spike Jonze. i'll narrow it down to Chemical Brothers' "Star Guitar", White Stripes' "Fell In Love With A Girl", Fatboy Slim's "Weapon of Choice", and Bjork's "It's Oh So Quiet"

Ryan Carroll

I want to recommend probably way too many but here are a few: Vitalic - Pony Pt. 1 <a href="https://vimeo.com/42286041)" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://vimeo.com/42286041</a> Janelle Monáe - Tightrope <a href="https://youtu.be/pwnefUaKCbc)" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://youtu.be/pwnefUaKCbc</a> Cardiacs - Tarred and Feathered <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NVjSycDJatc)" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NVjSycDJatc</a> 自主制作アニメーション『the TV show』<a href="https://youtu.be/BQ9YtJC-Kd8)" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://youtu.be/BQ9YtJC-Kd8</a> JULIAN SMITH - Eat Randy <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xqKPe9w5bUs)" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xqKPe9w5bUs</a> Is Tropical - The Greeks <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QwrbyVaC6EU)" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QwrbyVaC6EU</a> ....aaaand, finally Prince - Batdance <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ulOLYnOthIw)" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ulOLYnOthIw</a>

Joe Shuttle

A good video to dissect, and compare against today's current climate, I'm going to pull one from my childhood. The timeless 1989 classic "Billy Joel - We Didn't Start the Fire"

diana

gotta go Cardiacs, either Tarred and Feathered or To Go Off And Things

Viva Reverie

That's odd, I thought I made a comment but returning to this page it doesn't seem to be here? I'll try recreating my list, consisting mostly of old videos (...Of varying quality) in my YouTube Favourites: They Might Be Giants - Birdhouse In Your Soul Yellowcard - Ocean Avenue Marcy Playground - Sex and Candy Caravan Palace - Rock It For Me Delta Heavy - Get By Aqua - Lollipop Tenacious D - Tribute MGMT - Kids Loco Loco - It Burns Burns Burns MIKA - Lollipop And, two suggestions already made here that I super agree with are: OK Go - End Love Bo Burnham - Repeat Stuff ...I realize that my list is way way too long? Still I'd be happy if even one of these showed up. Oh, actually, wait, one more: PSY - Gangnam Style Alright that's all, I look forward to the show!

Ol' Blue Hat

Guess I'll represent weird and popular stuff from the 90s. 3 Doors Down - Kryptonite Red Hot Chilli Peppers - Californication OR Otherside They Might Be Giants - Istanbul (Not Constantinople) (frankly anything from TMBG would be killer) Can't think of any more right now but I'll be addendum-ing as I think of them.

Mark Hughes

I think at some point you just devote a month or so to discussing the complete videography of Aerosmith, because they can tend to be the epitome of over the top 80s/90s videos.

matthewbianchini

Faith No More - Epic. Lots of bright, colorful visuals and pretty '80s if you ask me.

matthewbianchini

fun fact -- Neil sampled that in "Piss" off of Mouth Silence

PogieJoe

Oh you have to watch Total Eclipse of the Heart. It's BONKERS. And a little icky at the end?

cygrips

Steam by Peter Gabriel is one of my all time favorites. Love for sale and Blind by Talking Heads are pretty great too.

Bulldozer

Land of Confusion from Genesis HAS to be on here, right? Definitely more than enough material in here for an entire discussion video.

Gabriel Gould

Jamiroquai's "Canned Heat" might be a good one.
