BELLA!

Some years ago turning movies and other pieces of media into video games was the Hot Thing to do, most games I played in my childhood were adaptations! This doesn't seem to happen as much nowadays so my question is: if you could make ANY other piece of media into a video game, which do you choose, why and how?? :D looking forward to the new video!!

What did you like about the Doom movie and why was it the FPS sequence?

What's a video game series that needs a movie?

Dee Cee

I've noticed that for a number of video game adaptations, it seems like a movie script was developed, and elements of the game were only inserted afterwards. I have two questions, given this observation: 1. Do you think any of these game adaptations might have been improved if they weren't created as a game adaptation? 2. In the opposite direction, what movies do you think would have been improved by being a game adaptation? Game adaptation.

Dan, how does it feel to be the most evil arcade villain there ever was?

VG Movie Question: Name a bad video game and then a director who could do a good film adaptation. Non-VG-Movie Question: What's a favorite moment from a previous job?

Leo Nehl

If you were all working on a video game movie adaptation, would it be better to make an adaptation of an older game (that doesn't necessarily have a cohesive, laid out plot but room for interpretation; i.e. Sonic, Mario, etc.), or a more modern game (one that has everything clearly laid out, but not much wiggle room; i.e. Assassin's Creed, Tomb Raider, etc.)?

Favorite memories involving video games?

What's traditionally worse: Movies adapted from games? Or games adapted from movies?

Do you think mortal kombat's gimmick of ultra-violence has aged well, given how video games have changed over the years?

What are some of your favorite cryptids or unexplained creatures?

Mark Hughes

There's an animated Super Mario Bros movie scheduled to be released in 2022 by Illumination Entertainment (The studio that behind Despicable Me, The Lorax, The Grinch, The Secret Life of Pets and Sing). No other information has been announced in terms of who is working on it. What do you think is the percent chance that it will actually be good?

Scott

I feel like you’re mostly going to focus on live action films released in the US. There are lots of anime movie adaptations of video games. Street Fighter, Final Fantasy, Mario, Resident Evil, a whole bunch of Pokémon films, etc. There are even more if you include TV shows. Have you seen any?

I personally love the Super Mario Bros. movie for just being a super baffling fever dream of oddness with great production design, even if it doesn't even halfway resemble the source material. Do you think it would've had better reception if it wasn't connected to the games at all and was its own thing? Because to me it really seems like they had an original script and then stuffed it with some random things from the games to add the brand.

When making a video game movie adaptation, how much creative leeway do you think the writers should get for the plot? Do you prefer video game adaptations that stick to the plot of the games or ones that become their own separate thing? Also, #makevideogameadaptationsweirdagain
