Hiatus Kaiyote

Maya's sister absolutely sounds like her.

Arct1cF0x

Ring cameras are cringe

Torayume

I remembered both batman and robin were competing for Poison Ivy's affection at first in one of them old movies. Good times.

Josh

i love when the beginning of the main ep says "so we had to make the first one patreon again" cause then i get to come here and watch this first to see what happened

twibay

Omgggg astral projecting is kinda creepy I have a crazy story about it lol

Cyber Warlock

Lud should be Harley Quinn for true romantic accuracy

spam_musubi2

I’m pretty sure beetlejuice was a demon in the movie that was summoned when they’d say his name 3 times. So technically he is evil, cause that’s why he tries to get married (or rather forced the marriage) so that he can come back to the living world. I forgot specific details but yeah 👻 he for sure is goofy nonetheless

SF

Okay someone’s a ghost

MateoMotado

Isn’t robin usually with starfire?

Bi Bubble tea

I joined in for Some Desperate Glory for the book club this month (I really liked it, skipped out on my college homework for 3 days to finish lol) and I think I wouldn’t have liked it as much if I didn’t audiobook it. It made it a lot easier to digest because there was so much going on at many points that the different character voices made it simpler. I def recommend it to anyone thinking of joining in this month though, I’m a primarily nonfiction reader but it was great to jump back into fiction with.

Alysse Spencer

Love how Maya said her and her sister don’t sound alike and then proceed to sound exactly the same when on the phone with her

Morgan T

“Police my ex boyfriend astral projected into my room” is sending me lol

Joey

No adult is worried that they are also wearing the same costume, you'll be fine lol

cody beverlin

This is soo completely off topic but I miss seeing Sam on the H3 podcast but I'm glad she moved over here to help out QT 😊 I hope she is enjoying it and happy

D

That haunted doll footage was cool af. Didn’t know we had a ghost hunter that watches wine about it

cody beverlin

Tim Drake became Robin at the age of 15 and has been stuck as a teen since 🥲

Ana ☆

maya never ceases to surprise me with not knowing well known pop culture things 😭

sedael

laughing at the guy "we dont fake anything" -> sends in clip of a crappy speaker inside a doll lol

Migs

Luckily enough they finally let Tim be college age recently, idk if he’s ever passing the age of 20 though 💀

Shell

In mayas defence there is literally a a batmans robin that is a girl with red hair

Yupooman

qt should watch that beetlejuice musical i think she would have liked that one song in there

Joey

I retract my message, Qt was talking about herself in the end lmao oops sorry.

Joey

Yes, but not in that one movie where George Clooney is Batman!

winterhalperin

This made me laugh so loud im almost ashamed

DaddyWarbucks

they talk the same but their voices are distinct imo

DaddyWarbucks

For the record I started as a podcast viewer pretty much. I had seen QT a couple times beforehand. I still mostly only watch the podcast

Alwxg

Lasers work perfectly well on malasma and it’s fast, easy and noninvasive.

Austin

This entire episode is just making me wonder why QT and Maya haven’t done a joint costume with QT as Harley and Maya as Poison Ivy yet

Mitch Mitcherson

Maya’s melasma isn’t noticeable until she points it out. It’s common among asian women and I’m told you can get it from taking birth control, but do your own research. It’ll probably go away with time and sunscreen 🧴

allocat5867

Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy are a couple so you could go as Poison Ivy and give Lud your old Harley Quinn outfit. That would be iconic.

Erin

antphrodite is a streamer who does fortune telling content using tarot cards, yall could get him on for an episode

Michael Low

They absolutely DO sound like each other

Jose Marin

Astral projection you leave body and go into astral plane, lucid dreaming is considered a form of astral projection but you basically are aware you’re dreaming and can control what happens in the dream.

Louuuu

I'd love to see you two talk to dr k about astral projecting and his more out of there stuff 🤣

NotSoQuix

omg i didn't realize the book club book is by Emily Tesh! i read her Silver in the Wood duology and loved it, i'll have to check the book club out :)

ChubbyHobo

not rock champ !!! lol

Experimental Cyborg

ngl astral projecting and then being unable to get back to your body until you wake up screaming 10 minutes later sounds exactly like getting sleep paralysis while you're lucid dreaming.

BisonHero

It was a random tangent while they were discussing QT's Poison Ivy/Robin costume idea, but if Maya and QT watched the 2 really campy Batman movies (Batman Forever, Batman & Robin) it would be interesting content.

Olivier Barbeau

I'm so genuinely shocked about the amount of positivity I've seen about the book. Maybe it's because I read a lot of sci fi/fantasy already, but I thought the book was quite bad. It had some good ideas, but really lackluster execution. I'm extremely curious to hear what everyone thinks about it during the next book club ep.

Bi Bubble tea

Spoiler warning for anyone who hasn’t read it: I think I appreciate attempts to explore big themes like what the book touched on, even if it doesn’t do it as well as others. So many fantasy books I’ve tried out in the past feel very shallow to me, so I like that it tried a lot of things. For me, political anger is something I struggle with a lot, so exploring that through the lens of the earth dying and the characters kind of having to learn that sometimes the best course of action is accepting that there are things you can’t change and moving forward, I resonated a lot with that. I also enjoy angry toxic female characters and SDG had that in spades so I enjoyed that and the character dynamic between Kyr and Cleo. The end Definitely stretched on too long, but I still had a good time and was immersed the whole time, I’d give it an 8. I also don’t read a lot of fantasy, so maybe I’m just easy to impress. Do you have any sci-fi recs you prefer?

Ford

I feel like qt has told the garage kid story like 5 or 6 times across wine about it now lol

Olivier Barbeau

That's really interesting. I think the thing that was getting to me was that there was just so much wasted potential. I'll be conscious of spoilers, but there were so many interesting (not new, but still interesting) ideas being approached from a new direction that consistently failed to stick the landing. As for recs, it's honestly difficult because SDG is relatively unique in concept from what I know at least. I'll try to list some though, including some that I don't particularly like but I still think are good. Murderbot by Martha Wells Red Rising by Pierce Brown The Fifth Season by NK Jemisin The Will of the Many by James Islington Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir This is How You Lose The Time War Contact by Carl Sagan anything by Olivia Butler Best Served Cold by Joe Abercrombie (fantasy)

Samuel Lazar

Personally I’m not a fan of the ghost story/spooky stuff. It’s very repetitive imo

Okta

You can chew poop as much as you want. Maya with the validation for the dog community

thorgrim_fireforge

QT should do the audio book version of books. I also have dyslexia and it's how I've gotten back into books
